Letting Agents Sheffield

SNUG is a scheme run by Sheffield City Council to approve and inspect student accommodation it launched in 2014.

The approval is gained when homes meet the required standard of property and tenancy management, and the landlord is considered ‘fit and proper’, it lasts for 2 years before the landlord has to reapply.

It helps to give student’s confidence that their rental homes and landlords have been pre-approved to a good standard. Once a property has been approved a certificate is issued and universities are informed. The scheme is promoted by The University of Sheffield, The Sheffield Hallam University as well as Sheffield City Council.

The cost for a landlord (Prices based on September 2021) is £50.00 per property or £100.00 per property if the building has more than 11 bedrooms. For larger purpose built blocks the prices are as follows: up to 200 bedrooms = £150.00, 201-999 bedrooms = £250.00 and 1,000 plus bedrooms = £500.00.
